Ok, here is my question for you MCE experts out there. I have recently
purchased and setup MCE 2005 and have the Microsoft MCE 2005 remote to go
with it. My system is setup for an S3 sleep state as that is the method I
prefer. I have been unable to wake the system with the remote in this power
state. What I am curious about is this. Does the system have to be in the low
power S1 state or can the system use the suspend to ram S3 state? I checked
the power management settings in the device manager for the remote but there
is not a power management option for the HID Microsoft eHome Infrared
Transceiver. Any ideas? I would really much prefer to continue using the S3
    sleep mode.

Super! That did the trick!. I had added the regkey already but it was cycling
power and not staying in S3. Your post showed me that I had forgotten to set
the motherboard jumpers to enable the usb power on function. Thank you!
