I'm using LCD 19" monitors for the first time.

On all Analog capture there is severe dithering and banding that comes right
    out of the screen.

I guess the best way to put it would be the picture looks like it's in 256
    colors, not in the millions.

I know my display and mce 2005's display setting refelct the output of my
    radeon 9550 adapter 1280 x 1024 @75HZ.

But why the 256 color look?
Is this inherent in LCD displays with video and i'm just not use to it?

Why is OTA HDTV captured and viewed not suffering from the 256 color look
    (except for CBS HDTV)?

    Is there any fix?

Yes I've tried the DVI out of the radeon to the dvi in on the monitor, no
    change.

    TIA
