MCE2005 Guide Download Error Code 23

    MCE 2005, nVidia GeForce6500, eMuzed Maui II S NTSC FM

    When I try to setup the TV I get all the way to
    downloading guide data and get Error Code 23. It
    recognizes the tuner card, downloads cable operators in
    my area but when it goes to download the data it coughs
    up this error.

    I can play the sample video files. I can't view Live TV
    (it just comes back after a momentary hourglass). I've
    tried this with two other tuner cards as well (Hauppage
    250 and nVidia).

    I've confirmed the cable signal is coming into the tuner.
    (plugged a TV into cable to confirm) I'm just using
    analog cable, no cable box required. I have another
    Media Center 2005 PC running on the same network with no

    The actual error text is:
    "Download Incomplete"
    "Guide listings could not be retrieved. Guide
    processing error"
    "Details: Unable to load new Guide file. Code: 23"
    "Would you like Media Center to try again?"
    " Yes"
    " No"

    Please help with any suggestions on how to get around
    this. I'm stuck at this point. Nothing I seem to do
    (changing video or tuner cards) seems to correct this
    error. I've never been able to get past this screen for
    setup of my TV signal on this system.

    Not the definitive answer you were probably hoping for, but I have seen this
    a few times, and only when there was a problem with my internet connection.
    The amount of data generally downloaded to identify the cable operators in
    your area is very small, and when my connection was on suffering from DNS
    problems, it just about downloaded this data. However, when it went to
    download the EPG data (much larger), it has far more chances to time out.

    I'd check your internet connection for DNS issues, or some intermittent
    problem (are you using a WLAN?).
