New Dell Inspiron E1505 with WMP-10. Ripped files to an external harddrive,
then tried to copy those songs to my iRiver, and the iRiver won't play them.
Wondering if there is some sort of media protection scheme going on here. The
iRiver plays fine with the music already in it. It's only the recently ripped
    songs that won't transfer.

    Thanks, JD

  2. If the bitrate is above 300, which includes VBR and lossless recordings,
    then they won't play.

http://www.misticriver.net/ is an excellent resource for unravelling
    iRiver issues.
