Media Ctr remote won't change set top box channels

  1. My Media Center remote won't change the channels on my set top box. I must
use the remote that came with the set top box.

could it have anything to do with a device called "serial" that has an
exclamation point on it in Device Manager. What does that mean? Device
Manager tells me it is not working or is not installed properly, but it
doesn't tell me what it is?

Did you hookup the IR Blaster to your MCE Remote Receiver?

  3. I hooked up everything that came with my computer. The "channel numbers"
appear on my monitor, as if the TV station will change, but when I press
enter, nothing happens. I believe everything is hooked up right. It is a
    comcast settop box, digital cable.

  4. Did you hook up a cable that sticks to the front of your set top box
and use a flashlight to find the place to stick it? did you go through
    remote setup successfully?
