For some reason, Media Player in XP Pro has got stuck in skin
mode. The option for switching to full mode off the View menu is greyed out
and none of the other shortcuts or icon switches do anything either.

Have tried updates and re installing all with no change...

This is on a Home PC and Not part of a corporate install

I know your question was posted one year ago. I'm having the same trouble
with my Media Player 10 in XP. How did you resolve the issue? I've tried
    reinstalling numerous times.

  3. This appears to be an unset registry problem. Here is what worked for me with
MP 10 - gpedit.msc, change the following setting to "Disable" - Local
Computer Policy, User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows
Componets, Windows Media Player, User Interface, "Set and Lock Skin". Hope
    this helps.
