Message Rule Misbehaving

Discussion in 'Windows Live Mail' started by Neil Turkenkopf, Dec 26, 2013.

  1. Hi folks!

    [Win7x64 PC, WLM 2011]

I've been using WLM for a long time and have gotten used to using Message
Rules to sort out incoming mail.
Lately I'm having a problem with certain emails going into the wrong
folders, and I'm stumped as to why.

I've checked and double-checked the names, spellings, etc. and just can't
figure out how to fix it.
    Any ideas, suggestions, advice?

    Thanks in advance!

Hard to say without knowing the details of the rules, other rules that you have
in place which may be firing earlier, and the details of the messages that are
not following the rules as you expect.
Something about the message may be matching a rule that you don't want it to
follow, but it is earlier in the list, so that rule takes precendence.

    Not enough information.

    In general:

Have all rules that Delete it from server first.

Rules that divert mail to folders next.

    All others last.

Make sure that every rule also has Stop processing more rules checked,
unless that option is grayed out.

YW. Thought that might have been a good possibility.
