  1. Messenger beta 6.1 crashed the first time I hit audio . . .

Using my very solid Windows 2000 box . . .

Yeah, I was having problems with starting up audio conversations with
Messenger 6.0, so I did a little checking, and found that an updated version
was available. (Okay, so it's was a beta - big deal.)

Anyway, I loaded it and then the first time I hit "Audio", it did something
strange. It closed its window and started what looked like a loading
procedure. Then it faulted out and communicated with Microsoft. It spent a
little time exchanging data and for a moment I thought it was going to give
me a report. but it didn't, and then it just disappeared - even the icon was
gone from the system tray. I did a restart. And it came back. Now, when I
try "Audio" it at least tries, but it never works.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

Might be going back to 6.0 here,
