I am building a form in Microsoft Word 97 to be used by
the doctor I work for. When I go to overtype what goes in
the blanks, the blanks do not disappear - they keep right
on moving to the right of what I'm typing. How do I
actually make the overtype mode overtype? Thank you very
    much?

Is anyone reading these posts? If you are, I'd sure
appreciate an answer from someone who knows how to take
care of this problem. Thank you very much.

  3. You would be better off posting to the Word 97 NG, they would be able to assist
    you.
This is a Windows Update NG - press the insert key and that puts you in overtype
mode. There are better ways to do it though, so post to the Word NG.

Thanks, Kaylene, I'll try that. But, if you had read my message, you would
have found out that the insert key is NOT putting me into overtype mode.
Can anyone else here help me?

This is not even close to the right newsgroup....like Kaylene suggested
...post in the Word 97 group...

This isn't a Windows Update problem. You're always more likely to get a
good answer if you post to the most appropriate newsgroup.

Having said that... I suppose you've made sure that Insert is off?
