Migration from sbs 2003 to 2008 standard

  1. Hello matttt897,

    No, leave it up and running AD is based on DNS and do not stop. Especially
    if not both are run properly. It can be stopped when you start to remove
    the SBS, so later on.

  2. Zone transfer request on the 2008 box??? Look at the zone in 2008, go into
    properties, tell me if it is an AD integrated zone, or if it is a secondary
    zone. If it is a secondary, delete the zone, please, and ONLY if it is a
    Secondary zone.

    Did you disable DHCP on the router?
