Missing media usage rights

I have playlists that have hundreds of songs on them that the player wont
play. If I look at the properties it says that it is missing media usage
rights. However, if I click on the same song from the library (not
automatically from the playlist) it plays fine. Also, all of these songs I
have played many times before, and are from ripped CD's. I have no songs
from the internet. This is a new thing. Can anyone help?

    Thanks

Thanks Neil, very helpful. I know that the music wasn't (really?) protected,
because I could play the song directly (like draging the album into the list
pane), I just couldn't play it when I was using the playlist. Another fix is
for me to redo all of my playlists. It seems to be working. I think what
happened was that I was using windows explorer to drag and drop into Windows
Media Player when I was making the playlists. Some songs took, and some did
not. I am redoing the playlists by draging and dropping from WMP only, and
    it seems to be working.

    Thank you

    Tim
