I have created music files in Audacity and exported them as WAV files. Tried
to used WMP to burn them to CD but receive error message that WMP cannot open
the file or the file is missing usage rights. However, WMP plays the files
without any problems and the properties say they are WAV files but the usage
rights screen say the file is missing media usage rights. I created these
files from my own music and they have no copyright restrictions. How can I
    overcome this problem.

Can you use WMP to burn CDs that you ripped using WMP?

Yes I can. I ripped a filed to .WAV(lossless) then opened in Audacity &
exported it as WAV. Tried to burn original WAV and Audacity WAV. Successful
with WMP file but Audacity file created error. I can listen to both in WMP

Following up on the your question Dale, I decided to investigate further and
solved the problem. Audacity can export a variety of WAV formats so I changed
the format to 16bit PCM which WMP can burn to CD. Although, it can play the
other file formats, WMP doesn't know it can. :)
