I have 34 servers to monitor. Does any one know of a way
to get notification at my PC when ever an error is logged
in the event viewer. I would like to stay away from
buying a third party app as the approval to intoduce new
apps into the enviroment is overwhelming.

Here is a first party application that can do what you want and much more.

  3. Microsoft Mom seems like a good idea, but is it perhaps version 2 of
    Microsoft Bob?

  4. Hmm I don't think so, I heard Version 2 of Bob was going to have the name reversed so that it would be obvious what
    product it was.

Mom is usually something you have running on top of Dad to watch him for mistakes and to tell him what he did wrong. Oh
yeah, Dad is Dev AD. :eek:p

  5. There isn't much native that will just do it for you. You are either going to have to step up and do some scripting or
    buy something.

  6. Nope. Version one had one letter "o" in the name, so I expect version two to
have two of them: Microsoft Boob. I'm still waiting for Bob 2000, or, in
    other words, Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ...
