We need to migrate WSUS content because we put it on a storage that has gone
off lease. Rather than put it on SAN again I'd like to know if WSUS content
can live on a UNC path. Anybody know if a UNC path is possible? If not - can
you help me find docs on how to move the location?

  2. Technically, WSUS content is not supported on a network share.

However, having said that, take a look at the configuration instructions for
an NLB deployment of WSUS 3.0, where you'll find instructions on how to
configure the content library on a DFS share. Nothing actually requires you
to ever install the second node of the NLB front-end, so it's reasonable
that a single standalone server can function from a DFS share.
