MS installer cleanup utility fails-The specified module cannot be

Discussion in 'Windows Small Business Server' started by Peter Cooling, Apr 13, 2007.

  1. I'm working with support department of a spam protection product (Ninja) and
    having difficulties uninstalling the product.
They suggest I run the the uninstaller utility msicuu2.exe which I
    downloaded from the MS site.
The uninstaller fails with message "The specified module cannot be found" .
I appreciate the product is supplied as is - but could anyone suggest a fix
    for
    this situation.

    The system is SBS2000

    TIA

  3. Hi Marina

The installer doesn't appear to create a log.

No entries in the events logs.

    Full message:-

    Script C:\docume~1\Peterc~\Local~1\Temp\1\IXP000.tmp\StartMsi.vbs
    Line 1
    Char 1
Error The specified module could not be found

    Code 8007007E
    Source (null)

No much to go on I'm afraid
    TIA
    Peter

  4. Hi Again Marina

    Bit more info

I have found a file which is changed at the time I run the program
    NtFrs_0005.log

It's quite unreadable though & is 940kb long

(Is there a way to attach a file to postings in these newsgroups? )

I sample below the file contacts:-
