MTP devices as "normal" drive

Discussion in 'Windows Media Player' started by Michael Leithold, Jun 27, 2006.

  1. Hi there,

can I somehow use a MTP device like a "normal" drive? I have some older
applications that only can work with drives but not with MTP devices.

    Kind regards, Michael

  2. Maybe.... Does the device appear in windows explorer as a removable
drive ? It should appear on the tree of available folders, if you can
browse to it's internals (like the creative Zen portable media center)
then you can usually access the storage but I think only in XP

  3. I can access it from windows explorer. But it is a special folder, not a
normal device. It has no drive letter and I cannot assign a drive letter
    in the control panel.

  4. Hmm I can't think of anything obvious that can map a drive letter to a
device folder - they don't appear to be standard folders.

Have you considered using a standard folder to save the files, then
something like SyncToy to automatically keep the copies in sync ?
