naming ripped files from album info

  1. Hello all,

I thought I'd try out Windows media Player's ripping abilities to see
how it compares to CDex, what I normally use, and WinAmp's ripping
    abilities.

I haven't got very far because every time I insert a CD to be ripped WMP
calls it unknown artist/album and wants to rip it to files named that. I
tried doing Find Album Info, which gets everything, but how do I get WMP
to apply that to the list of tracks to be ripped?

Both CDex and WinAmp will do that based on the info they download from
freecddb.org. I have about 160 CDs and having to type in all teh info
for each track manually would be enough of a pain in the butt such that
I'd never use WMP for ripping.

    Any enlightenment?

    Oh, yeah - WMP 10, WinXPsp2.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Assuming that (in Tools Options) dialog, you have turned on settings to
update missing track information, the online update feature simply
    doesn't work consistently.
