    Hello,

I just registered a new public domain Company.com. I want to use a
subdomain for my internal AD domain, which would be called INT.Comapany.com.

I am a little confused on how to do this. I am going to be using 2003
server, which I have installed already. I run DCPROMO and it asks me what I
want to do. That is where I am confused. Since Company.com is public, and I
don't have a DNS server for it (will use ISP I think), I am not sure what
option to choose.... I thought I would create a child domain to Company.com,
but since I don't have access to Company.com yet, it won't let me.

I am trying to follow MS's guidelines, and from what I read, this is the
right way to do it. Not sure what I am missing, but any help would be
    GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks!

  2. Bill what you would do is the create a new domain called INT.company.com.
Your ISP host company.com and you will host INT.company.com. Depending on
your enterprise DNS configuration your DNS server should be configured to
forward to your ISP DNS server.

    Hope I'm clear.
