I have a NEW, one week out of the box, DELL PC, and it came preinstalled with
a version of Win-XP that must be several months old. I've attempted to access
the Microsoft Update Website to download ALL the Security Updates and Bill
Gates REFUSES to let me have his precious updates. I even PAID EXTRA to DELL
for the Win-XP CD-ROM. What the hell is "Genuine Advantage" ??? Microsoft's
Update Website says "this function is no longer supported". THEN HOW THE HELL
DO I DOWNLOAD MY SECURITY UPDATES ???

Who do I sue? Microsoft or DELL for breach of contract and for INTERSTATE
    FRAUD?

Anyone want to join me in a class action lawsuit?

GO TO HELL Carey Frish of Microsoft. I'm NOT going to install your NAZI
Genuine Advantage. I've just PAID FOR a brand NEW DELL PC and I paid EXTRA
for the Microsoft Win-XP CD-ROM. It looks like ABC, CBS, FOX & NBC needs to
know about this NEW NAZI program at Microsoft. See you in court.

That link you posted is for installing your NAZI software "Genuine Advantage"
and does NOT solve our problem. So by your reply, are you confirming that
it's Microsoft's OFFICIAL policy that they are REFUSING to allow ANY Security
Updates for ANY Microsoft Software to be downloaded unless the user installs
your NAZI "Genuine Advantage", including NEW PC's right out of the box?

    Call Dell.

Either that or set Automatic Updates to Download but you choose what and
when to install. You aren't allowed on the Windows Update site without
    validating.

WRONG "ºAliasº", it's NOT a question of "validating" which I have no
objection to. It's the NAZIS at Microsoft NOW SUDDENLY making everyone
install their NAZI SOFTWARE titled "Genuine Advantage". This is Breech of
Contract & Internet Interstate FRAUD for purchaser of NEW PC's. The FBI's
Internet Fraud Task Force in located in my city. I've just sent them an email
and I got a very quick reply, who knew the FBI works on Sundays. Looks like
they are VERY interested in this issue and MS's responce to me as "Mr.
Lowlife" after pointing out this illegal software from Bill Gates to STALK my
    PC.

  10. Unless you properly validate your Windows installation,
then your only option is to allow Automatic Updates to
automatically download and install the critical security
updates. You cannot manually select which specific
updates to install unless you v-a-l-i-d-a-t-e.

To configure the Automatic Updates feature:

    1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
    2. Click the Automatic Updates tab, and then click
    "Automatic - recommended"

  11. No one from Microsoft has responded to any of your posts.
I am not a Microsoft employee and my comments are strictly
mine and do not reflect any official response from Microsoft.

Please take a moment to read the Windows XP EULA
by going to START > RUN and type: WINVER , and hit enter.
Pay particular attention to this statement you agreed to when
you accepted the EULA (section 1.2):

"There are technological measures in this
Software that are designed to prevent unlicensed use of
the Software. Microsoft will use those measures to
confirm you have a legally licensed copy of the
Software. If you are not using a licensed copy of the
Software, you are not allowed to install the Software
or future Software updates. Microsoft will not collect
any personally identifiable information from your
    Workstation Computer during this process."

While a user may own the computer, they do not own the
license For Windows XP. Microsoft owns the license
and the end user only purchases the use of the license under
the terms of the EULA they agreed to prior to installing.

I've just received a phone call advising that Microsoft's "Genuine Advantage"
software violates sections in BOTH the Federal Wire-Tapping Laws and ALSO
Pennsylvania's strict Wire-Tapping Laws. So this isn't just a civil lawsuit
question it's also a CRIMINAL CRIME. Pack your bag Carey Frisch, you are
going to Federal Prison, I'm adding your name to Bill Gates in my CRIMINAL
COMPLAINT to our local U.S. Attorney.

Do Dell owners have to agree to an EULA? If XP came preinstalled and
preactivated, it would seem to me that the OP didn't agree to any EULA.

There's two kinds of WGAs. One is an activeX thing so you can enter
Windows Update using your browser. The other is a two fold program that
installs on your computer and calls home from time to time. The first is
obligatory to get updates using your browser. The second is optional and
you can choose to not download or install it and still get updates using
your browser. Of course, you can only use IE for this, not Firefox or Opera.

I'm talking but you are NOT listening.

I'm willing to "v-a-l-i-d-a-t-e" but I'm NOT willing to allow you to install
your ILLEGAL SOFTWARE titled "Genuine Advantage". I've just received legal
confirmation that YOUR "Genuine Advantage" violates sections of BOTH the U.S.
    Wire-Tapping Laws & Pennsylvania's strict Wire-Tapping Laws.

We have discovered that your "Automatic Updates" attempts to install your
ILLEGAL "Genuine Advantage" which is FRAUD.

What "inappropriate language" ??? You are not only a NAZI but also a CRIMINAL.

How do you sleep at night?

Even if you were to email me instructions how do download Security Updates
for my week old NEW DELL PC, as I was able to do last month on my old PC,
this has gone too far, and EVERYONE needs to know how. This is Criminal
behavior by Microsoft and everyone involved with "Genuine Advantage" needs to
    be indicted.

  17. You should return the Dell immediately.

Fat chance of adding Carey or anyone else who is not a Microsoft employee to
any such lawsuit...unless you really want to start a frivolous lawsuit.
For some strange reason, you seem to think he works for or is part of
    Microsoft, he is not.
Get all your facts straight before you attempt a lawsuit, you clearly do not
understand much of your own complaint.
Search Google, good information abounds there..

Perhaps this is a better option since Microsoft products are clearly not for
    you:

My SINCERE APPOLOGIES, you talk just like a MS employee and your sig gave me
the false impression that you were from MS. I regret inacurately associating
you with the NAZIS and CRIMINALS behind this illegal "Genuine Advantage"
software. I'll request tomorrow that your name be removed from the Criminal
Complaint I emailed earlier. I doubt anything will be filed officially until
    Monday anyway.

So NO ONE from MS reads or posts here?

Carey, you support this ILLEGAL software from MS?
