When I sign in to my.yahoo.com to my home page, all my new messages are
marked as read, but only from my laptop computer. My desktop does not do
this, nor do other computers with ie7. This is a paid account (thru prodigy
domain). It does not mark any messages on other accounts as read.

So you have at&t Yahoo! HSI with an "@prodigy.net" email domain. You are
using MS Internet Explorer 7 on a laptop, so that would mean some version
(can you state which?) of MS Windows XP. Would this also be set to use the
    new Yahoo! Mail (Beta)?

Yahoo! tracks that sort of thing using cookies. Clear cookies and cache.
They may also use ActiveX controls, instead of JavaScript, when access is
through MSIE 7. You many need to do something to clear up those, as well.

    Hi Rumrunner123,

Check your laptop system clock to see that it has the correct time and date.
(Probably has a past date! 01-01-1900). Depending upon the age of your
laptop, the battery that keeps the clock up-to-date even when the power and
battery is disconnected, may have completely discharged. You may have to
take it to a computer repairer to have it replaced as it will be located
    within the laptop caseing.

    Regards.

    Hi Rumrunner:

I would think you should ask Yahoo for help with their software.

Prodigy was acquired by SBC/Global years ago > SBC acquired ATT a while back
and rebranded itself as ATT > In the past few days we've seen others with
legacy, Prodigy-related Yahoo accounts posting with all sorts of problems.
I suggest you contact ATT and/or Yahoo for assistance.
