I am having major problems with my MCE. It was working just fine and I got
infected by a virus. I am a little knowledgeable about pc's and such but
still have so much to learn. I re-formatted my hard drive not realizing that
it would also get rid of my drivers. With the help of the company that
manufactured the computer I was able to get the generic drivers for the
system. They said they could not help me with the MCE portion since that was
something that was added on after purchase. Just so you know I HAD a Dell
Dimension 8300 that was running just Windows XP. I went ahead and had it
upgraded to MCE. This is where it gets really confusing for me. I hope you
can keep up and be able to help with my dilemma.

As I said earlier, I re-formatted the hard drive and lost the drivers. I
went back to the computer store that installed the MCE for me but he was no
help at all. He said he only knows how to install and that technical issues
would need to be addressed to the manufacture of the video card that is in my
system. The video card I am using is a e-Home TV Wonder Pro which is
manufactured by ATI. I contacted ATI and explained my problem. They told me
how to go in and find out what version of MCE I am running. I DON'T KNOW!
When I go to the Help and Support screen on my Windows XP it shows that I am
running Windows MCE 2002. When I access the control panel and open system, it
says that I am running Windows MCE 2004. Finally, the program itself tells me
I am running MCE 2005. I explained this to the tech for ATI and he really
didn't listen to the part that "it was working perfectly before I
re-formatted my hard drive". He just told me that the e-Home TV Wonder Pro is
not compatible with MCE 2005 and that I would need to purchase a new video
    card.

Is there anyone out there that can help get this pc back up and running
before I totally go insane? I would very grateful.

I have the most up to date drivers for the e-Home TV Wonder Pro. They are
drivers that should work with MCE 2005.
