Newsgroup is being closed - now what do I do?

Discussion in 'Internet Explorer' started by PA Bear [MS MVP], Jun 30, 2010.

  1. Given the kinds of questions that crop up, I suspect that people that post
via the MSoft Communities are not aware of newsgroups and how to get at them
    through NNTP clients.

Those are probably the kinds of questions that can be solved in that sort of
forum. Posting the same advice repeatedly, like turn off addons, reinstall virus scanners,
revert to default settings, reinstall windows, reduce daily fat intake etc. may possibly
    even help one of them.

Don't see why MS made it an either/or thing given the lack of support that they provide
here except for the MS MVPs. I mean it's not like they're reducing costs or anything.

But making it sound like they are up on modern trends by cross posting "Microsoft Responds to the Evolution of Community" is pretty
    annoying.
