Help. I can't download images from my Nikon Coolpix 4300
digital camera. The harware installer says I need to
install Microsoft XP Service Pack 1 for file ptpusd.dIII.
I downloaded SP1 months ago and the XP update won't
install new updates when it scans my system. Please email
me at with any solutions. Thanks,
    Steve

Have you tried downloading and installing the latest software and drivers
from the Nikon website? The latest software version is:
    ===============================================
Nikon View 6.1.0 Full Version - Windows (and it include all necessary USB
    drivers).

Or you can download just the MSC and PTP drivers from that website . Here is
some info on that subject (from Nikon):

"NDCD.zip" contains drivers in individual directories for all currently
supported Coolpix and D1 series products. After the file is decompressed the
following folders will be found, each with it's own "Setup" installer
    program.
After determining which driver is needed open the correct folder and run the
    "Setup" program you find.

    MSC Cameras
    E995, E885, E775, E2000, E2500, E3500, E4300, E4500, E5000, E5700

    PTP Cameras
    E2000, E2500, E3500, E4300, E4500, E5000, E5700

Many newer cameras can be used in either "MSC" or "PTP" USB mode. PTP mode
can only be used with Windows XP. MSC is used for all others. With a camera
set to MSC mode the camera will mount like a removable disk in "My
Computer." MSC is the default setting for all Coolpix cameras.
