No access to local folder when logged onto doman

Discussion in 'Server Networking' started by Desktop Works, Feb 13, 2009.

  1. Hi,

I've boiled my issue down to:

When logged in locally (Vista Business/XP Pro)there is no access to the
mapped (..\documents and settingsuser..)drive, as setup on the users server
2003 profile. And vise versa, when logged in to the network, there is no
access to the Documents and Settings folder locally.

This makes installing some programs not run properly.

    Ideas?

    Sincerely,

    Johnathon

  2. It could be group policy. Afar logon domain, run gpresult /r. Check any
group policy apply to your computer.

  3. Hmm - maybe OT, but why would you install anything while logged in locally?
I don't use local logins unless there's a problem and I can't log into the
domain (and then I use the admin account).
