No background midi sound for webpages (Vista, IE7) unless I turn off Protected Mode!

When going to websites that have a midi background sound specified in
the webpage, I don't hear the background midi loop sound. I can play
stand alone *.mid files just fine (as well as other mp3 etc with
    plugins).

After lots of testing I discovered that if I turn OFF the IE7
"Protected Mode" and restart IE7, it works.

Can anyone with Vista/IE7 please verify if you hear sound in this
    example page?

    Do you hear the sound?

Any ideas? I don't want to turn off protected mode of IE7, so I'm not
sure what is causing the problem.
