I have a w2k3 domain and I wish to add a another domain controller.
    However, Netdiag /test:dns /v reports

[WARNING] The DNS entries for this DC are not registered correctly on
    DNS se
rver '192.168.1.2'. Please wait for 30 minutes for DNS server replication.
[FATAL] No DNS servers have the DNS records for this DC registered.

Please say if this is something that happens a lot and can safely be ignored?
I have spent much time trying to get a clean netdiag run but this has
    totally stumped me.
FYI - this is a single name domain i.e. dons-domain and no .com

  3. By default, because you have a single-label domain, dynamic updates aren't
going to work. This is why you are seeing these issues. You can probably
run NETDIAG /FIX on each DC to register the necessary records, but the boxes
aren't going to do this every 60 minutes like they'd like to (well, they try
every 60 mins, DNS won't actually let them re-register every 60).

As Al pointed out, you need to look at the options available to you with a
single label domain name. I think you can either look at a migration to
another domain, or a rename if 2003 functional. I don't know if 2003 will
support this via reg-hacks (Longhorn will).

Are dynamic updates enabled on the root zone? Are you using a mixed DNS
    environment?
