No DVD Sound Playback for Windows Media Player

    If I play an audio CD in my DVD drive, the sound is fine,
    but if I play a DVD, a movie for instance, there is no
    sound. The video seems to be fine, but no audio. I also
    do not have the usual "Windows" system sounds, either.
    None of the little bells, whistles, chimes, whatever,
    that Windows uses, are audible. Has anyone else had a
    similar problem? Naturally there is NO help on the
    Microsoft website. Have yet to find the solution to
    anything using their support menu. If anyone can help me
    with this, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
