"No TV Signal" even though signal strength is near 100%

Using an ATI HDTV Wonder digital tuner card (and a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR250 to
get around the analog tuner requirement), I get a black screen for about 10
seconds followed by the standard "No TV Signal" blue screen whenever I try to
tune in a digital TV channel. Media Center's signal strength meter shows
that all the major channels have 5 or 6 green bars, so signal strength should
    not be a problem.

I am using the Nvidia PureVideo decoder (trial) as my decoder and made sure
it was selected as the preferred decoder using the XP Decoder Checkup Utility.

This is with Vista Beta 2. All drivers appear to have installed
successfully (after some headaches). A very similar setup runs fine with
    MCE2005.

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Ken
