Number of Fileshare Resources

Discussion in 'Clustering' started by Jeannie Marcel, Jul 13, 2005.

  1. Is there a recommended number of fileshare resources that can be created
before using the 'share subdirectories' advanced option?
Is 100 separate file share resources on one virtual server a bit too many?
    Thanks for any advice.

  3. Many thanks
I am inclined to have less file share resources but my customer is adament
it is OK as he has seen articles saying over 900 resources are supported.
I know it will affect failover times. Are there any figures which indicate
how much memory/system resourcres a cluster resource uses.
    Thanks

  4. Too much relies on your individual environment (the stresses on the
resources) and the power of the resources themselves (scaling up your nodes)
to give you a plain answer. You need to test for your environment.
