I'm running a SBS03 box along with a Server 2003 Standard box, both domain
controllers on the same domain. I have been getting this error on the 03
Standard box ever since I connected the SBS Box:

    Event: 4321

The name "TTI :1b" could not be registered on the Interface with
IP address 10.0.0.250. The machine with the IP address 10.0.0.251 did not
allow the name to be claimed by this machine.

The Standard Box is .250 and the SBS Server is the .251. tti.local is the
domain name. I know that a SBS box "can be the only DC on the network". What
do I need to do to the Standard box then???

    Hi Murdock,

Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.

According to your description, I understand that you receive a 4321 event
ID in Standard windows 2003 system when you connect to the SBS from the
Standard windows 2003. If I have misunderstood your concerns, please do not
    hesitate to let me know.

Generally, if there is WINS Server in network, it indicates there is a
domain record in WINS with the same name as the computer was trying to
register. The WINS server was refusing the registration, so its IP address
showed up in the 4321 error as the server preventing the registration.
Please check the WINS database to see if the domain name is registered by
    10.0.0.251.

1b indicates the domain master browser name, which clients and browsers use
to contact the domain master browser. A domain master browser gets the
names of all domain master browsers. When WINS is queried for the domain
master browser name, it handles the query like any other name query and
    returns its address.

WINS assumes that the computer that registers a domain name with the 1B
character is the primary domain controller (PDC). This name is registered
by the browser running on the PDC.

So please try to stop the Computer Browser Service on Standard windows 2003
to see if the error may disappear.

In addition, you can add additional DC to the SBS 2K3 domain as long as the
    following requirements are met:

    mspx.

    Q. What number and types of servers can exist in the Windows Small Business
    Server 2003 domain?

    A. There are >>> no limits on the number or type of servers that can exist
<<<< in a Windows Small Business Server 2003 domain, with the following
    exceptions:

    1. Only one computer in a domain can be running Windows SmallBusiness
    Server 2003.

    2. Windows Small Business Server 2003 must be the root of the Active
    Directory forest.

    3. Windows Small Business Server 2003 cannot trust any other domains.

    4. A Windows Small Business Server 2003 domain cannot have any child
    domains.

    5. Each additional computer running Windows Server 2003 must have a Windows
Small Business Server 2003 client access license (CAL).

    6. A Windows Small Business Server 2003 domain can have no more than 75
CALs. You can use CALs for each user or for each device.
