  4. Tongue!, he slipped tongue! NOT coo

There, I think I quoted something

(I actually don't now what you mean by quoting what I'm replying to
*I* obviously see what I'm responding to just fine, but I have no ide
what you're seeing on your end. Feel free to email me a paste o
something of what you see and if it's screwed up I'll talk to m
developer who setup the system for me and see if he can modify wha
gets pushed to usenet. It's very possible he pulled something out i
regards to quoting because of the fact that one of the reasons I buil
my own system is that I'm always moaning about having to read 5 page
of a post just to see the one line of actual response (I'm talking t
    you google groups!!)

  5. If you use a newsreader, Outlook Express for example, and directly connect
to msnews.microsoft.com - a reply to a post contains the original post.

So if you have one of the posts to the thread, you also have all of the
history to that point. This breaks down when the history isn't included in
the reply - which is the case for all of your posts, Matt.

This has a negative effect on the value of your posts, and that will be the
case forever as google is our archive, and it's only going to show your
replies - but absolutely no context.

It would be a shame if this isn't corrected, as your posts have technical
information that's not of much use without the context or history.

Easy fix - use a newsreader.

  6. I think I'll check out OE newsreader and some other online usene
interfaces to see what you guys are talking about on my posts as I ha
no idea that they looked 'different' than everyone elses

  8. Errrr, I've used all kinds of usenet readers (newsleecher at the momen
for our private nntp data archives for example). That's what
switched *from*. I don't use them now because I've chosen to aggregat
*all* of the lists that I personally participate in, including thos
that are email and rss based, my companies own personal lists, etc
into a single searchable indexed archive that my employees an
like-minded individuals can use for researching issues related to SBS.
Don't know of a better utility for doing that than a web based one bu
I'm all ears if you know of something, this is what my developers cam
up with for me when I put to them the task

However it appears that that tool is posting to usenet slightl
differently than other methods based upon your comments in regards t
post quoting, etc., so I just want to see what you're talking about.
It meets my needs on *this* end of the equation, but if I can change i
so that it gives others a more consistent interface on *that* end I'l
    do so...got it now

  9. Isn't that exactly what I said I was doing?

    From my prior post:
"I think I'll check out OE newsreader and some other online usenet
interfaces to see what you guys are talking about on my posts as I had
no idea that they looked 'different' than everyone elses."
