Old, Deleted Printers Still Appear in Printers and Faxes Menu on Clients

    AD, Server 2003 domain.

    Network printers that were added manually but have now been obsolesced or
    renamed still populate the Printers and Faxes menu of our clients, even
    after being deleted on the client, they come back after a reboot.

    How can I get rid of these connections?

    Yeah, that doesn't work. Turns out that there's a registry key on every
    client that needs to be deleted also.

    Apparently editing the registry is a requirement to delete a network
    printer!! It's an astonishingly stupid design, if you ask me. Delete
    apparently doesn't mean delete, it means, "make invisible until the next
    restart, even though the printer doesn't exist on the server, can't connect,
    hasn't been used in over 100 days, and the user has deleted it several dozen
    times using the GUI and command line".
