Anyone have any expeirnce of one network printer being sent jobs by two
machines with a queue on each for the same printer? I'm trying to convince
some people that that is a bad idea but need to back it up with hard
evidence. One server will have windows server 2003 x64 bit and one windos
server 2003 x32 bit. Both will have the printer installed with the same
priority and schedule etc. I think it's a world of pain ready to happen.

    What do you think?

I think it should work just fine.
I've recently set up a HP colour laser with two separate print queues - one
full colour and the other B&W
    This works without issue

  3. For fault tolerance we have two print servers at sites miles apart, each has
over two hundred and fifty printers both pointing to the same devices w/o
    issue.

I have two color plotters that each have a "Bond" and a "Photo" print
queue. It doesn't seem to be a problem. But they are on the same server.
