OT - Does MS read and act on these newsgroups?

Maybe there are some individuals here that know if MS actually takes any
actions based on the posts in these newsgroups. If so, are there any
particular keywords they zero in on that help them get thru all the litter?

Would appear to be a reasonable method for getting some valuable customer
feedback - rants aside but it is also fraught with pitfalls sorting out all
the wheat from the chaff I imagine. If they are reading these newsgroups
and filtering out pertinent information, I doubt they would admit it openly
but it would be nice to know that some of our effort is actually being used.

So what we're left with are some MS volunteers (thank you all), other
knowledgeable users (thank you too) and some pay for documentation (MS Press
and others) and some Help files to try and figure out what MS has been doing
the past 5 years to make Vista a WOW Experience. I know it's but a pittance
but I already have spent over $800 in license fee's and books so far and
have determined that the MS phone support in India is really useless -
although very courteous - but none the less, still useless.

Vista isn't going away but WinXP support and updates will stop one day. So
like it or not, if you intend to stay with MS products, buckle up for a
rough ride ahead. I don't expect it to be any worse than the ride we had
when upgrading to WinXP - and that was not painless. If you think it was -
great and I hope your Vista upgrade goes as well. Mine has been a love/hate
relationship so far - just like WinXP as I recall. Same bugs - just
    prettier looking.....

  2. If you are a TechNet or MSDN subscriber...
If you have properly registered your alias...
If you are posting to one of the managed newsgroups...
If all of the above are true and you ask a relevant question,
Microsoft will give you an answer.
There may also be other programs, but you normally know if they apply
    to you.

Otherwise these are peer to peer newsgroups and there is no
requirement or expectation that Microsoft act or even read any post
    here.
Otherwise Microsoft employees may post here, but then they are doing
    so on their own time.

If you want to be sure Microsoft gets a message, these newsgroups are
    not the place.

Here is a link for ways to contact Microsoft directly:
