    Hello All,

I am trying to have users be able to connect the vacation calendar in RWW to
their Office Outlook so that they can post event dates/appointments/schedules
from their Outlook to the RWW vacation calendar.

    Any ideas?

    Thanx.

I'm assuming that you are talking about the vacation calendar in companyweb.
Companyweb is based on SharePoint Services 2.0 and the synchronization
between the site and Outlook is one-way only (from the site to Outlook).
    Outlook access is read-only.

You have two options. Either install WSS 3.0, publish the site to the
Internet and create the calendar there (which in my opinion is too much
work for just a calendar), or create a calendar in Public Folders in
Exchange (which your users can access from OWA)

    Hope that helps

Thanx Costa for your response. The communication is indeed one way (from
companyweb calendar to outlook). What I ended up doing is to have users link
their outlook to the RWW calendar and enter appointments company-wide on
there which then gets appears on their outlook. I just may look into the
option of creating a calendar in Exchange Public Folder for access via OWA.

    Thanx again.

  4. Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

My name is Robbin Meng, and it is my pleasure to work with you on this
    issue!

Please allow me to confirm that my understandings are correct. As I
    understand it, the issue is:

You would like to share a public Calendar on the company web so that users
can connect the vacation calendar in companyweb to their Outlook and post
    event dates/appointments/schedules
from their Outlook to the vacation calendar.

If I have misunderstood your concerns please feel free to let me know.

I agree with Costas on his work around to setup a calendar in Exchange
Public Folder for access via OWA. You may create a calendar in Public
Folder and set the permissions to share it to domain users so that other
can modify and access it via OWA.

    Hope this helps.

Thanx for the response. If a calendar is created in Exchange public folders
and shared to domain users, can users view and post events to it via Office
    Outlook besides OWA?

    Thanx.

  6. Hello,

Sure, after you have shared the public calendar to domain users with
proper permission, it should be viewed and modified both via OWA and
Microsoft Office Outlook client. You may have a simple test.

Thank you for your time and cooperation.
