OWA Blocks Attachments

  1. One of my clients is running SBS 2003 and they utilize OWA while out in the
    field to check mail. However, whenever they try and open any attachments
    through OWA, they are not able to. This includes .doc, .xls, .pdf, etc. If
    they are on their client computers, they have no problems with attachments
    at all. Just via OWA.

    I presume I am overlooking a minor detail that allows users to open these
    attachments, but I am remiss at finding the fix. The error message is as
    follows:

    Internet Explorer cannot download "filename" from "server ip address."

    Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested
    site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.

    Any thoughts.

    Thanks for the tip. Although very helpful for future knowledge,
    unfortunately, the article did not correct my problem. As a test, I tried
    adding .doc to the Level 2 list to force all .doc files to have to be saved
    when received as an attachment via OWA. I e-mailed a .doc file to one of
    the user accounts. It did in fact force me to have to save the file, but
    once I selected a target location, I got the same original error. Any other
    thoughts.
