We currently have a deep folder hierarchy where we have given a group read
and take ownership access to all files and folders. Then we have given the
CREATOR/OWNER group FULL access to Subfolders and Files. Each user has
Ownership of their own files so they obviously have rights to edit these
files while everyone else can simply read them. The end result is that if
someone wants to edit a file they can take ownership and assume permissions
automatically. However the permissions do not automatically update when to
the new owner when the ownership is changed. Is there a way to enable this?
We can see that the owner does assume the correct permissions when the
permissions are reapplied on a highler level folder.
