Pixellated video window under all circumstances

When I stream videos from the internet, the picture is somewhat pixellated,
which is understandable. However, even when I scale the picture down to 50%
size or less, the picture draws pixels bigger than those of the screen
resolution. Each pixel drawn by WMP is the size of 4 actual screen pixels.

Why is this and how do I fix it?
