I use 2 monitors, I like to watch a DVD on one in fullscreen, and proceed
with work etc on the 1st monitor. But some operations, such as opening a
folder, the refreshing seems to cause the fullscreen on monitor 2 to go back
to normal mode, the folder never overlaps to the 2nd monitor, but somehow
the refreshing of the 1st one (nearest I can describe it to) causes the loss
of full screen on the 2nd. I wondered, is there a way to lock fullscreen
    mode?

On what OS? On XP you can pin the full screen controls, which I'd imagine
would lock the player into full screen.

I have XP pro, on a Athlon 1.4ghz, with 512mb ddr ram, and a geforce 4 ti
    4200 agp 8x 128mb ram video card.

Even with the fullscreen controls pinned, the problem still occurs, is there
no way to lock fullscreen totally?

I don't believe so. You could full screen stretch it, or use a skin that
allows the video screen to be stretch to full size (my old WinAMP skin
import made skins that did that).
