Listen guys, this is a real problem. I am not the only one with this
problem. Do a search on this discussion group and you will see people with
the same problem. Here is a detail description of the problem I am having.

Any .png image on any website shows up as a red x. How do I know the red x
are .png images...cause I right click them to check the properties. All
other images such as jpegs, bitmaps, etc shows up fine.

Its seems is though know one can figure it out without doing a system
restore. There gotta to be someone smart enough to figure this out.

    Hi Neil,

What can we say? You only tell us that you cannot see png's? What about
    Windows Version? Graphics Hardware? Firewall?
Home PC? (If its a work PC please consult your network admin)

Do you have a file association for file types .png in the Windows Explorer
    Tools/Folder Options menu?

The only conclusion that we can draw is that it is not an IE7 problem as we
can view png's just fine, you can't, so it must be something about your
machines settings other than those for IE (as there are no png specific
    settings in Internet Options.)

BTW. This is a Public Newsgroup. You are publishing in Public domain.

The point the OP tried to make is that there have been many complaints
of PNG problems with IE7. Just because you have no problem, and I have
no problem, does not mean there is no problem.

The OP deserves a more constructive response.

  7. Perhaps if Rob's questions are answered there may be one... ; }

I suspect the OS is Vista but even when that fact is determined
typically more details are not being disclosed when requested.

Brilliant reply, C A Upsdell.. much appreciated!

I'm experiencing same issue, cannot view .png on one user's computer in IE7,
but I can see them on my machine. We are WinXP, not Vista.

Rob.. you shouldn't even visit this site and "offer help" if you are going
to be condescending or a complete jerk.

This is a forum for HELP. Not sass-mouth.
