Pop3 Connector interval

Discussion in 'Windows Small Business Server' started by Michael Alfaro, Apr 7, 2004.

  1. Hi,
I noticed the smallest amount of time you can set the pop3 connector
to pull your mail down is 15 mins. Is there anyway to do this at a small
interval, or even better on demand? What would be optimal is if the
connector downloaded all the email from the ISP when any user logs in. For
now shorter intervals would be great though.

    Thanks,
    Mike

15min is Set in stone far as I know..
If you change your MX records for your domain to send mail to your SBS
server, and then Set up your SBS server to use MX recieve instead of POP3
    access.
Then you won't have the wait :) as soon as it's sent it's there!
    ZERO waiting!

    My 2 cents

  3. Hi,
    Thanks for posting your question.
The smallest interval is 15 minutes. You may be able to find third-party
software that performs the same function as the POP3 connector that may
allow for more control over the connection interval if you absolutely must
check more frequently than 15 minutes.
The POP3 connector was designed to assist with migrating from ISP-hosted
POP3 mail to Exchange-hosted SMTP mail.
    Thanks!
