    Hi All,

I am about to begin rolling out Exchange 2007 and am in the process of
preparing the AD. I propose to do the Schema upgrade prior to installing
    Exchange 2007.

I have 4 Windows 2003 DC's in a single domain that is currently a Windows
    2000 native domain and forest.

My question is what is the best and safest way to go about upgrading the
schema. I was intending to raise the domain and forest functionality and then
run the setup.com /PrepareAD from the schema master. However I would like to
have backout plan, so that I can revert to if the upgrade doesn't work. I was
thinking of taking a DC offline while I do the schema upgrade, which I can
bring online if I have problems, and seize the roles.

Does anyone have a recognised practice for DC recovery incase of upgrade
    failure?

    Thanks

    Guy

    Hi
Another option is to disable inbound and outbound replication using
    repadmin.
