All I get is error messages or the DVD burner just freezes up everytime I try
to burn a DVD in my brand new Windows xp Media Center. I have tried DVD-R AND
DVD-RW both and still can not burn a DVD ON my HP Pavillion computer. It came
with Sonic and it won't burn a simple video clip either. I tried my Media
Player 10 and it froze up to. Has anyone else had the the same problem and
figured out the solution. HP Tech support did'nt help. Thanks

    Is your DVD burner broken?

Can you watch a DVD in MCE?

Can you burn a DVD outside MCE (eg using Nero or something similar)?

Is it worth making sure you have the most up to date drivers or trying to
    reinstall your DVD drivers?

I had more problems after posting the message yesterday. My mouse and
keyboard stopped working. I talked with the HP support tech and advanced tech
and niether could get mouse or keyboard working. So now I will be shipping it
back to HP to fix it. Thanks for responding. I am glad I have and older dell
laptop so I can still go online because my HP is dead in the water with the
mouse and keyboard not recognized by the computer. Thanks again
