Problem getting Media Player 10 to play Media Player 9 video.

My wife's computer came with Windows XP pre-installed. It also came with a
"Do Amazing Things" DVD that contains several BMW promo videos that, because
her computer has a Celeron processor, played slowly or not at all, and not at
the highest resolution possible. I just bought a new computer with an AMD
Athlon 64 processor that can handle the video at the highest resolution. It
came with WMP10 pre-installed. However, when I try to play the videos, I get
an error message advising that it will be necessary to install Windows Media
Player 9 in order to play the files. When I try to install WMP9, I get an
error messager that there is a newer version of WMP already installed and the
WMP9 installer is shutting down. I keep going in circles. Anyone know how to
either install both versions of the WMP (9 & 10) or get the video's to play
    with WMP10?

    Exactly the same problem!
Wife with slower computer WMP9 works.
My box with WMP10 does not. Tried playing files directly...no go.
Let me know if you find a way to fix this. I can't fins anything yet.
I did find reference to the exact same problem with the T2 HD DVD and
interactual released a patch for it but I doubt it would work for this DVD.
