Problem loading ndis6 light weight filter sample in WDK.

Has anyone out there successfully loaded the ndis6 sample filter driver on a
recent Vista build? I tried to load the sample on top of my ndis6 miniport
driver on Vista 5520 by following the instructions in the code tour but the
installer hung and I have to reboot.

Before I spend time in debugging the problem, I want to know if there is any
gotcha I should have paid attention to. Being relatively unfamiliar with
Ndis IM driver, debugging this issue will be difficult since there is
absolutely no os symbol for that build.

Tom, Max, Stephan or other folks, have you tried that?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Calvin,

I have a NDIS 6 LWF that I just installed on Vista 5600 (RC1). Its remote
ancestor is the WDK filter sample. It is currently loaded using something
like SNetCfg instead of the control panel, but the LWF certainly installs
    OK.

There were some NDIS hiccups between Beta 2 and RC1. Some fields were added
to some data structures, etc. "Net" result was that some Vista WDK/OS
combinations would not work correctly - but I don't recall a failure at
    install time.

I recommend that you use the RC1 WDK and Vista RC1.

    Good luck,

Thanks Tom. I'll definitely try the latest.
