    Hi,
I have been having all sorts of problems accessing the
windows update site for a long while. I have gone through
several troubleshooting stages, and now am stuck on this
    one.

When I try and get onto the windows update page, I
receive the error saying I must be logged on as
administrator even though my user is an administrator
    account.

I have followed the troubleshooting stage for this one,
as defined in the troubleshoting page (changing the
    permissions on the
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi
on\WindowsUpdate registration key) but it has not helped.

If you have any suggestions, I will be very happy to hear
    them.

    Cheers,
    Matthew

    Hi,
I should have checked this before, but when I looked at
the windowsupdate.log file, I saw this:

    2003-10-03 08:04:07 22:04:07 Error IUCTL Digital

\temp\iuident.cab are not trusted (Error 0x800B0001:
    Unknown trust provider.)
    2003-10-03 08:04:07 22:04:07 Error IUCTL Digital
    Signatures on file C:\Program Files\WindowsUpdate\V4
\temp\iuident.cab are not trusted (Error 0x800B0004: The
subject is not trusted for the specified action.)
    2003-10-03 08:04:07 22:04:07 Error IUCTL Failed
    to download iuident.cab from
    http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v4/ to C:\Program
    Files\WindowsUpdate\V4\temp (Error 0x800B0004: The
subject is not trusted for the specified action.)
    2003-10-03 08:23:14 22:23:14 Success IUCTL Shutting
    down

I have checked the directory, but I have no :\Program
    Files\WindowsUpdate\V4\temp directory at all.

    Cheers,
    Matthew
