    Hi,
I have a problem and I hope you can help me.

    Situation:
    Server1: Windows Server 2003 R2 SE
Services running: Active Directory (single domain), DNS, DHCP (Subnet class:
    192.168.250.0/24)
15 client Machine: No Operating System installed

A distribution share "I386" is created in drive C: on Server1 that hosts the
Windows XP Professional installation files. This folder has the full control
Everyone share permissions and the Write NTFS permission assigned.

    GOAL:
I would like to install Windows XP Professional SP2 on the 15 client
machine, without implementing the RIS service on Server1. In particular, I
attempt to use a network boot client (through a floppy disk) that boot the
client machine and connect to the distribution share on Server1. But I have 2
    problems:
    1) not enough memory
    2) problems when I try to use the net use command (an error not well defined)

So, I would like to know, first of all, if there is a method to boot a clean
machine with a network boot client (floppy), connect to a distribution share
on a server and run a unattend setup with the command "winnt.exe
/u:unattend.txt /s:\\Server1\I386". Or if may I modify the netboot floppy.
If these procedures are present, please give me some informations.
    Thank you very much.
    Fr.

  2. Hello,
As for the first error, you do not have RAM available.
You need 440K below 640 at least to run winnt.exe, so you may have to load
some of the drivers high into upper memory.

The second error is an MS-DOS redirector error, without knowing what the
error is it's hard to suggest workarounds.
This is not a Windows XP issue, this is network boot disk issue or a
connection issue with the server, some of this may be dependant on your
    network environment.
    Thanks,
