Problem with configuration ADAM Config File

Discussion in 'Active Directory' started by Fernando Conde, May 20, 2005.

  1. I am trying to save the configuration file to make a replication from DA to
    my adam,

    I extend my schema with the two files from RS2 . MS-AdamSchemaW2K3.LDF and
    MS-AdamSyncMetadata.LDF,

    I modify the MS-AdamSyncConf.XML file to my configuration

    .. When i execute this command:

    ADAMSync /install localhost:50000 c:\windows\adam\MS-AdamSyncConf.XML

    Appear this error:

    An ldap error occured while saving the configuration file: No Such Attribute
    Done.

    Someone knows somthing about this error.

    thanks..

    Hi

    a likely cause of that error is that the MS-AdamSyncMetadata.LDF
    did not get installed, did you have

    -s localhost:50000

    on the ldif import

    Also adding

    /log -

    to the ADAMSync command line can give extra information.

    Thanks

    My guess is thanks to Lee. Its the configurationFile attribute !

    I solved it by installing the ad_schema.ldf

    Hi

    did you check whether the schema update took place
    for the MS-AdamSyncMetadata.LDF. You could try
    running it again on localhost:50000.

    The class will be syncEngineAuxConfiguration and the attribute
    configurationFile.

    In the ADAM Command Tools prompt run:

    ldifde -f con -d #schemaNamingContext -s localhost:50000 -r
    (ldapDisplayName=syncEngineAuxConfiguration)

    and

    ldifde -f con -d #schemaNamingContext -s localhost:50002 -r
    (ldapDisplayName=configurationFile)

    (ignore any line wraps) what does the output show?

    Thanks

    Sorry, both examples should have had

    Hi

    well it looks like your schema modifications are present and
    correct. If you can post your config.xml I will try and reproduce
    the problem.

    Thanks

    Hi

    some comments on the config.xml file are below but I do not think
    that is your problem. What I would do is:

    assuming that your AD partition is dc=adam,dc=int

    uninstall the ADAM instance on localhost:50000
    using Add/Remove Programs

    install a new ADAM instance on localhost:50000 and during
    the install create an application naming context when given
    the prompt to do so, dc=adam,dc=int,dc=application

    install the ldif files:

    ldifde -i -f MS-AdamSchemaW2K3.LDF -s localhost:50000 -c
    "cn=Configuration,dc=X" #configurationNamingContext

    ldifde -i -f MS-AdamSyncMetadata.LDF -s localhost:50000 -c
    "cn=Configuration,dc=X" #configurationNamingContext

    In the config.XML replace what you have below with

    <description>Adamapplication</description>
    <security-mode>object</security-mode>
    <source-ad-name>adam.int</source-ad-name>
    <source-ad-partition>dc=adam,dc=int</source-ad-partition>
    <source-ad-account>administrator</source-ad-account>
    <account-domain>adam</account-domain>
    <target-dn>dc=adam,dc=int,dc=application</target-dn>
    <query>
    <base-dn>dc=adam,dc=int</base-dn>

    then run

    adamsync /install localhost:50000 config.XML /log -

    and then

    adamsync /sync localhost:50000 dc=adam,dc=int,dc=application /log -

    Hi

    the syntax you need for the ADAMSync /sync option in R2 is

    ADAMSync /sync localhost:50000 <ADAM target dn>

    see the example I gave below. You can see the ADAM targets
    using

    ADAMSync /list localhost:50000
