  1. Exception: ACCESS_VIOLATION (C0000005) - on reading from 0000000
    Faulting Offset: 0001185
    Module: ImApp.ex

    0001185D ImApp.exe

Every now and then I get this error message from Incredimail sayin
that Incredimail has crashed and please send an error report. It's ver
odd because it comes when I'm not using Incredimail, I might just hav
the computer showing the desktop or I might be on this Forum page. Doe
anybody know what it means and/or how I might get rid of it ? I shoul
add that McAfee is set up to allow Incredimail as per thei
instructions. I have been in touch with Incredimail but they don't see
to know what the problem is !

  4. Thanks for replying so quickly . In fact that was my post in the
McAfee Forum as I wasn't sure how to make sure that Incredimail was
fully enabled for the McAfee Firewall. It is fully enabled and I did
wonder if McAfee or Threatfire was finding this strange file when
scanning my OS. I have got used to just deleting the message when it
pops up but I wonder if it is something I should worry about.

All I know is that this error has been around for a very long time.
Googling it I don't find any real explanation or cure for it despite a
    lot of hits.

Let's hope that someone here with more knowledge spots this thread.

  7. So it's not just me then! Thank goodness for that, so presumably, it's
just a nuisance and not something to be concerned about. Thank you So
much for going to so much trouble.:D

  8. Since a Googling of "Incredimail has crashed" only came up with her
post on WorldStart on 9/18... and it shows NO posts in any of the
Vista/XP forums, I'd say don't get your hopes up.

    It ain't lookin' good.

You're welcome. I wish I could help more but I see that it isn't just
Incredimail that has caused that particular error.

Many people consider Incredimail to be a virus - rather like AOL.....

  12. Incredimail may be fun at your end (when its working) but for people
receiving mail, it is not so much fun, and if they have any sense will set
their mail to dump all of the annoying backgrounds and effects which make
mail sent with Incredimail such a pain in the butt..

  14. You are missing the point here. What you see at your end is not what
recipients see for the most part.

What they get is the basic text and attachments (background or other
effects) which may be marked as dangerous..

  16. Far from missing the point, this thread was posted because I have
problem with an error message from Incredimail; I was asking for hel
which was given and was not asking for opinions on Incredimail.I am wel
aware of what the recipients of my e-mails get in their Inbox and as
only send to friends and relatives , who actually like all the bells an
whistles that come with Incredimail and know that my security is kept u
to date, that is good enough for me

  19. Except for the fact that attachments and links are generally viewed in their
    own right.

    Hi Yorkshire lass,

I have been reading through your posts and hope that I may just have
    the answer,
as you already seem to know Exception: ACCESS_VIOLATION (C0000005)
seems to point to a registry problem, On reading your posts to other
forums you have also written that you would rather leave the registry
alone, ok, this is up to you. I would not recomend using the program
that was offered to you, which you rightly refused, as they are, in my
    mind, only after money.
You have also said that you have reinstalled Incredimail, I think this
was the right move, only when you uninstall and reinstall this often
leaves traces on your computer that are not overwritten. In short the
    problem stays.
    My answer;
    1. Back up Incredimail, File - Data and Transfer Settings Wizard -
Export Data and Settings. Follow the guide to save your settings,
e-mails, premium key, etc. on another partition.
As you may or may not know this will make an Incredimail folder with a
..cab data to use on reinstallation. (ie D:\Incredimail Transferred Data)
    2. Uninstall Incredimail.
    3. Restart
    4. Now the part you are not so kean on, use a registry cleaner to
remove anything left in the registry. I use Tune up utilities but there
are other programs available I believe that CCleaner is recomended here
    in this forum.
    5. Restart
6.Download Incredimail new and install. Your Firewall will probably ask
    questions during the install
these need to be allowed ie. Incredimail.exe or imapp.exe is trying to
    connect to the internet.
    7. On completion of the new install, Incredimail it will try to
connect to the internet to down load new mail, STOP this process using
    the stop button.
    8. Reinstall your backup, File - Data and Transfer Settings Wizard -
Import Data and Settings. Point the guide to the folder that was
previously made, (ie D:\Incredimail Transferred Data)
This will then setup incredimail as it was before we started.
Point to note: Any mails in Incredimail before reinstalling the backup
will be lost!! Hence stopping any downloads after the install

    I hope this helps
