Problems on attaching files onto email

Discussion in 'Internet Explorer' started by Problems on attaching files onto email, May 20, 2007.

  1. I'm looking for solutions to the problem I encounter while attempting to
    attach files to email.
When I try to attach files to email (hotmail, yahoo, gmail, etc.), the
pop-out window of my computer's files fails. It only shows the window without
context inside and crashes the IE system everytime the file window shows up.

The only thing I can do to fix it is to download the IE software again.
However, this is time consuming and lots of trouble.
I hope someone can help me solve this problem so I don't have to re-download
the IE software everytime I want to attach a file to an email.

    Many thanks!

    Maggie

    Assuming WinXP SP2:

    1. Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode?

To start IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; or

Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No
    add-ons).
